Lt Thomas Rowan (Olinda), 2^nd Field Artillery Brigade: Is believed to have been killed in action on this day at Franvillers near Peronne. On that morning he was working as a forward observer and told his men he was going forward to make a reconnaissance but was never seen again. A search was later made but no body was found. He is 34 years old and as he has no known grave he is remembered on the memorial at Villers-Bretonneux.
