Cpl William Teese (Mt Evelyn), Divisional Ammunition Column: Is admitted to hospital in France suffering from defective eyesight.

Pte Edwin Meade (Mooroolbark), 8^th Battalion: Leaves Egypt bound for Australia on the SS Kanowna. He has been suffering with enteric fever for three months and doctors order him back to Australia for further treatment. He will return to the AIF later in the year.

Albert Blair (Lilydale): Leaves his job as a farmer and enlists in the AIF, he is 47 years old and married.
