Pte Alex Ingram (Seville), 3^rd Pioneer Battalion: While taking a wagon into the Houplines area he came under fire from a German artillery barrage that included gas. One shell hit his wagon killing him and his two horses. He is 25 years old and was later buried at Cite Bon Jean Cemetery, Armentieres, France. Sadly, his young wife never remarried and remained his widow for the rest of her life.
