Pte Harry Allen (Mt Evelyn), 2^nd Field Ambulance: Is wounded in action, six gunshot wounds to the chest and arms, while carrying a wounded soldier to safety and is evacuated from Anzac Cove to hospital in Egypt.

Sgt Frank Olle (Gruyere), 5^th Battalion: Dies in hospital in Egypt after the wounds he’d received at the landing on April 25^th become septic. He is 28 years old and is buried at the Cairo War Cemetery, Egypt. He is the first man from Gruyere to die in the war.

Sgt Harold Clark (Gruyere), 27^th Battalion: Leaves Australia bound for Egypt on the HMAT Geelong.
